What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, soften creases, smooth wrinkles and enhance facial contours. We use hyaluronichyaluronic-based based fillers from both the Juvederm® and Restylane® family of products. These products restore volume loss and stimulate collagen in different parts of the face such as the cheeks, temples, smile lines, jawline and lips.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

For people looking for non-surgical procedures, dermal fillers offer minimally invasive, minimal downtime, long-lasting results.

And filler is not permanent! Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a product that naturally exists in our bodies, so HA fillers will gradually reabsorb into your body over 6 months to 2 years depending on your metabolism, type of filler used, and area treated. Filler can be easily dissolved with the injection of an enzyme. You will be back to baseline when filler is dissolved (naturally over time or with the enzyme).

  • What Is BOTOX?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable that uses botulinum toxin type A (OnabotulinumtoxinA) to temporarily reduce or eliminate facial fine lines and wrinkles. The FDA has approved the use of Botox® for the frown lines and crow's feet, while Dysport® is approved for frown lines only. It is the most widely researched and studied treatment.
  • What does BOTOX treat?
At MCL we commonly use BOTOX to treat: Frown lines (aka “11s” / glabellar lines) Forehead creases Crow's feet near the eyes Gummy smiles Facial asymmetries Lip Flips (with or without dermal filler) Face slimming
  • When should I start using BOTOX?
BOTOX is FDA approved for women and men 18 years and older. We recommend starting treatments in your late 20s and early 30s.
  • How much does a BOTOX treatment cost?
The cost of a BOTOX treatment varies by client and depends on your facial anatomy and desired result. Our experienced injectors, Carrie and Hannah, will consult with you prior to your treatment to recommend the proper dose to help you achieve your goals. We specialize in providing our clients with a natural look (your face won't look frozen!)
  • How does BOTOX work?
BOTOX is a purified protein that works by preventing your facial muscles from contracting by temporarily blocking the nerve signals. Because the muscles are relaxed, wrinkles are reduced.
  • Can BOTOX be used with other treatments?
YES! To improve and extend your results, we recommend combining BOTOX with other cosmetic skin procedures including chemical peels, IPL, dermal fillers, SkinPen microneedling, HydraFacials, and DiamondGlows. You can even have BOTOX added to an Aquagold facial to tighten pores and improve the appearance of reds in the skin [link to internal pages]. We also love to pair it with SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced+ serum, and/or a vitamin C and E serum, in addition to a retinol and medical grade SPF to use at home.
  • How do I save money on BOTOX?
Be very careful of ads for “cheap” BOTOX, “faux-tox” – they are not as effective at best, and at worst can be very dangerous, causing paralysis, botulism poisoning, facial drooping, and infection. The best way to save money on your treatments is to enroll in Allē, a loyalty program where you can earn points and rewards for savings on future treatments including… You can also become a Rose Gold member, where you can save 15% on every BOTOX treatment as well as enjoy other other member discounts and perks. Additionally, Botox Cosmetic Day happens right before Thanksgiving, offering amazing deals. Visit the official Botox Cosmetic Day website to participate in the savings!
